Eric Nazarian's DIE LIKE A MAN and THE HOSTESS will screen as part of Sofia Meetings at the Sofia Film Festival, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Sofia Meetings is the film festival’s industry event and co-production market within the Sofia Film Festival.
DIE LIKE A MAN is included as part of the Works in Progress section, and is the only US independent film selected for the section at Sofia Meetings. THE HOSTESS is included as part of Plus Minus One Film Projects. The film is about a descendant of an Armenian Genocide survivor in modern day Bolis and her connection with an Syrian refugee.
Armenian Film Society had the pleasure of visiting and shadowing Eric Nazarian on the set of DIE LIKE A MAN in July 2021. The film centers on Freddy, who on his 16th birthday, is given a Magnum .44, a few bullets, and orders to take out his mentor's rival, a rehabilitated gangster. The film deals with themes of masculinity, toxicity, and violence.
The Sofia Film Festival runs from March 16 until March 31, and the dates for Sofia Meetings are scheduled from March 23 until March 26.
