Atom Egoyan's Exotica is the subject of a podcast from The Film Stage.
Exotica centers on a man haunted by grief (Bruce Greenwood), a young woman with whom he shares an enigmatic bond (Mia Kirshner), an obsessive emcee (Elias Koteas), and a smuggler of rare bird eggs (Don McKellar). The film won numerous international awards, including the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and 8 Genie Awards, including Best Motion Picture.
Exotica was released on the Criterion Collection in September. The film, along with The Adjuster, Calendar, The Sweet Hereafter, Felicia’s Journey, and Guest of Honour, are now streaming on the Criterion Channel.
